At last, this Let's Play comes to its conclusion...or does it? What about those Bloody Seals that slaughtered me earlier? Or all those other Touhou characters that I haven't met yet? Or the fact that there's technically 30 floors total in this game? Join me next time in...Let's Play Labyrinth of Touhou - Plus Disk Edition! New party, new enemies, new puzzles, new made-up story!
...Later. Actually, I think I'm going to take a break from this game for a while before returning for the Plus Disk. I really enjoyed playing and making this Let's Play, but I think I could use a break from exploring mazes and stuff. Final Playtime: 37 hours! And that's not counting game overs and redoing boss fights (I typically do every boss fight at least twice, once to record video, once to get images). I think writing the Let's Play text and dialogue took me even longer...
But that's not to say I won't be keeping busy with something else in the meantime! How about another Let's Play? Hmm, which game to pick...

Since this is my second playthrough, I'm using v2.06's New Game + mode to access all characters I've previously unlocked, and had people vote on the 12 characters I'm allowed to use, with the stipulation that I'm never allowed to level up and use any other character.
Part 1 of this battle can be found here: http://www.youtub...
My Party:
Meiling (lvl 134) Sakuya (lvl 129) Cirno (lvl 138) Patchouli (lvl 120) Suwako (lvl 120) Aya (lvl 127) Suika (lvl 120) Yuka (lvl 119) Remilia (lvl 119) Reimu (lvl 136) Alice (lvl 128) Flandre (lvl 120)
This is it: the Final Boss! If my levels look enormous compared to the previous boss video, it's because the enemies on Floor 20 give ridiculous amounts of experience points. Some level grinding was still necessary, though. Both the English and Japanese wikis recommend level 130+ to take on the Final Boss safely.
Maribel Han behaves like a mix of Alice's dolls and Yukari's/Rinnosuke's final form. She starts off weak, but calls forth a total of 3 summons: Shredding Amnesia, Aria-singing Toruastory, and Staring Igmaruji. They behave like Alice's dolls (Physical, Magical, and Support), but are far stronger and have much scarier attacks. In addition, killing one will make the other summons faster and grant them access to some truly deadly attacks. As she summons them, Maribel herself gets faster too. Maribel and her summons are essentially indestructible until all 3 summons are out, but you still need to cause enough damage to all them to get her to bring out the next summon. It doesn't matter whether you damage Maribel or her summons: you must deal a total of 500,000 damage for her to bring out the next summon. Once all 3 are out, their HP will be set; Maribel herself will have 2,000,000 HP, and will regenerate HP as long as the summons are alive.
Shredding Amnesia has 600,000 HP, has better DEF than MND, and specializes in strong physical attacks. It's immune to debuffs, but somewhat vulnerable to paralysis. I highly recommend having Suwako or someone else keep it paralyzed for most of the fight. When the other summons are killed, it will start using Scourge, which does 200,000+ damage, easily killing whoever it targets (oftentimes your tank). If you can keep it paralyzed, I recommend saving it for last; otherwise, finish it off 2nd.
Aria-singing Toruastory has 500,000 HP, better MND than DEF, and powerful magic spells like Ether Flare and God Press. It's immune to paralysis, but very vulnerable to stat debuffs. You can easily slow it down, or drop its MAG with Alice's Seeker Dolls. I personally find it to be the least dangerous summon, so long as I can lower its MAG. When the other summons are killed, it'll use Strengthen Jutsu to raise its MAG by 100%. Since it still needs another turn to actually use that murderous MAG stat, you get an extra turn to finish it off.
Staring Igmaruji is probably the most dangerous summon, with 800,000 HP, high DEF and MND, immunity to Paralysis and debuffs, and a large arsenal of devastating spells. Magic Crystal doubles the DEF and MND of all the bosses, while Fairy Wing raises all their SPD by 60%. But even scarier than the stat buffs are its status attacks. It can inflict every status effect to all your party members at once, sometimes with just a single spell. When the other summons are dead, it will cast Djinn Storm. I strongly recommend never leaving it for the end, as Djinn Storm will absolutely cripple you when there's still Maribel to go.
Once Maribel's summons are destroyed, she becomes much faster, greatly increases her DEF and MND, and gains immunity to all status ailments. She'll also immediately cast Overflowing Unnatural Power to further raise all her stats by some obscene amount. At this point, she gains access to many additional nukes, and can freely use Overflowing Unnatural Power or Djinn Storm. Your victory will likely depend on how often she uses those last 2 spells; even though I got to her final form with several key characters dead, her emphasis on nukes over buffs allowed me to just barely defeat her.

My Party:
Meiling (lvl 94) Sakuya (lvl 90) Cirno (lvl 97) Patchouli (lvl 84) Suwako (lvl 84) Aya (lvl 89) Suika (lvl 84) Yuka (lvl 83) Remilia (lvl 83) Reimu (lvl 95) Alice (lvl 90) Flandre (lvl 84)
Ah, MANnosuke. Probably the most climactic battle in the entire game aside from the final boss, and it shows. The battle is by far the longest one yet, spanning 8 different forms. For many players, some level grinding will be necessary to defeat him. The game's wiki recommends a minimum level of 90 to be safe, but if you feel confident and make good use of defensive buffs you can go in at a lower level.
Rinnosuke is completely immune to all status effects and debuffs, and has different magic spells depending on his elemental form. Each form has its own HP bar and different weaknesses and resistances, and every form must be destroyed to win the battle. In addition, he is capable of using Scarlet Golden Sword and Start of Heavenly Demise in every form; these are both powerful composite spells. I recommend designating specific characters to handle specific forms. For example, Rinnosuke's Wind form is weak to Nature, so I equipped Yuka and Suwako with Wind and Paralysis resistance gear and let them specialize in destroying this particular form. A few characters, like Remilia, Patchouli, and Meiling, were geared to handle multiple forms. Aside from his first and last forms, Rinnosuke will select his elemental form at random. I will describe each of Rinnosuke's forms in the order they appear in my video.
Rinnosuke's Nature form has 240,000 HP and is weak to Wind. Hazard Toxin inflicts a very potent poison effect, but doesn't do much damage on its own. His other multi-target nukes in this form are fairly strong, and can be either Magic or Physical based. Suika is fantastic here with her high Nature and poison resistance and the very powerful Wind-elemental Throwing Atlas. Aya and Iku also specialize in Wind spells, but could use some equipment to help out their resistances.
Rinnosuke's Wind form has 280,000 HP, is weak to Nature, and is probably one of his most dangerous forms. Almost all of his new spells can paralyze, and some will also debuff DEF or SPD. Hit it hard with Suwako's Croaking Frog Eaten By Snake, then get her out of their quickly. Suika has a weaker Nature spell as well as good Wind and paralysis resistance, so she's helpful here too. Make sure your other characters have ample resistance to paralysis, because mass paralysis can murder you. If you've got another Master Spark lying around, now would be the time to use it, as you want to kill this form as fast as possible.
Rinnosuke's Cold form has 280,000 HP and is weak to Fire. It can silence your entire team, but he usually sticks to strong multi-target spells. Yuugi's KO in 3 Steps will deal massive damage, but she's also weak to Cold magic. Likewise, most other Fire users (Mokou, Orin, Flandre) are weak to Cold as well, so you'll want to equip them accordingly if you plan to use them here. Alice and her Return Inanimate is not a bad choice, though.
Rinnosuke's final form is Composite-based, using spells that hit both DEF and MND. He'll have just 200,000 HP, but will now resist all elements, taking only 66% damage from every element type. He gains only one new spell, but it's an absolutely killer: World-Shaking Military Rule, which will boost all his stats by an absurd amount, likely turning Start of Heavenly Demise into a full party kill. Defeating this form is largely a matter of luck, as he'll use his self-buff spell randomly. If you're lucky, he'll waste his turns nuking you without buffing himself first, which still hurts but is managable with Reimu's Exorcising Barrier. If he does buff himself, you can try to get lucky with Tenshi's Sword of Rapture and its 40% chance to dispel each stat buff. To kill Rinnosuke quickly, blitz him with strong non-elemental attacks like Starbow Break, Silent Selene, or Slash of Eternity, as well as your very strongest elemental spells if available.

I will describe each of Rinnosuke's forms in the order they appear in my video.
Rinnosuke begins in his Physical form. The most dangerous move he has here is Rasetsu Fist, which hits for ~6k damage, ignores defense, and paralyzes. If you're using Tenshi as your main tank, you may want her to sit out for this form, as she'll get 1-shotted easily (she's fine for the other forms, though). Since he'll only use physical and composite attacks, you'll want to use characters with good HP and/or DEF. Remilia, Yuugi, and Suika are good choices. After doing at least 360,000 damage, Rinnosuke will Form Shift into a random form.
Rinnosuke's Spirit form has 240,000 HP and is weak to Mystic. It's one of Rinnosuke's most dangerous forms, as it can inflict mass silence (Sealing Slash), paralysis (Shooting Star) and instant death (Flux of Yomotsu Hirasaka). Master Spark, especially if you've buffed Marisa, will probably take out most of its HP. Ran and Eirin are both good choices too, possessing naturally high MND and Spirit resistance as well as Mystic spells of their own.
Rinnosuke's Mystic form has 220,000 HP and is weak to Spirit. It specializes in stat debuff spells, and can also paralyze and drain a character's SP. Kaguya can tear it apart with her incredibly strong Danmaku Barrage and naturally high Mystic resistance. Patchouli is also a great choice with her amazing Mystic resistance and immunity to stat debuffs.
Rinnosuke's Fire form is by far his least threatening form. It uses no status effects, and only a handful of generic spells, with Flowing Hellfire being its best unique attack. Use this time to buff and heal your team, especially if you've suffered a lot of debuffs from the Mystic form. It's weak to Cold, of course, but take your time with its 260,000 HP. Take note, though, that Rinnosuke can switch to a different form if you're taking too long, and reuse the previous form later on in the fight.
