Founded in 1933, at the suggestion of Albert Einstein, the International Rescue Committee is a global leader in emergency relief, rehabilitation, protection of human rights, post-conflict development, resettlement services and advocacy for those uprooted or affected by conflict and oppression.

About Me:

At work in more than 40 countries and 22 U.S. cities, the IRC is consistently awarded high marks by charity watchdog groups and respected publications for the efficient use of our financial support and the effectiveness of our work. Of every $1 the IRC spends, 90¢ goes to programs and services that directly benefit refugees and war-affected populations.

Thanks so much, alexrat2. Even if you don't live near an IRC office, we could always use help getting the word out about our work. We hope you'll tell your friends about us and share our stories here on YouTube, or on Facebook, Twitter and other places online. Info at http://www.theirc.org/volunteer (scroll down). Thanks again.

Absacream, appreciate the kind words. There are so many great stories about refugees who have been accepted by the US, not just succeeding in rebuilding their own lives but giving back to their communities as well.
