Congresswoman Virginia Foxx represents the 5th Congressional District of North Carolina.
Virginia was reelected to her third term to represent North Carolina's Fifth District in the United States House of Representatives in November 2008. She is the third woman in North Carolina history to serve in the U.S. House.
During her first term, Virginia established herself as a champion of conservative values and helped lead the national movement to increase accountability within the Federal Government.
In 2008, National Journal ranked Virginia the most conservative member of the North Carolina Congressional Delegation and more conservative than 92.3 percent of all House members. She ranked as the 10th most conservative Representative in the entire House.
