You are still able to post music (own made music to show off) but there's no separate catagory in wich other people can find/search it when search music you find corporate music like the latest lady gaga & eminem shit as you may know i don't know any technical details becouse i'm not into that shit but original musicians are pretty much screwed by google here, no chance at getting a 'viral' upload on to become famous.

To the commenter below, it is more encouraging than scary that delusional people are attracted to youtube as this gives you an opportunity to debunk their theorems and unlock their ability to understand and hence contribute in a better fashion.
