BBC Panorama: the world's longest running current affairs programme who famously interviewed Diana, Princess of Wales in 1995 broadcast this investigation into her death only two weeks after the tragic event.
Reporter Jane Corbin interviewed key witnesses who had been with the Princess and her companion Dodi Al Fayed on 30 August 1997 or were in the tunnel where the fatal crash took place. The interviewees include Paparazzi, bodyguard Kes Wingfield and Dr Frederic Mailliez who was the first doctor to attend the scene.
Despite this documentary being broadcast only 15 days after the crash, its findings show that the circumstances of Diana's death were quickly established and despite years of attempts to show that her death was the result of a conspiracy, no reasonable or rational doubt has ever been cast on the fact Henri Paul was unfit to drive, the crash was caused by the high speed which he drove at and Diana would have survived had seatbelts been worn. Had the narrative in this programme been accepted, then lengthy and expensive official inquiries that followed would not have been needed.
