I'm building a firepit pool heater, after a hurricane emergency hot shower, grill and cook pot usable by placing a 71 feet long coil of SS pipe inside a heavy steel box filled with sane, resting in a large plate steel fire pit with fire proof cement behind it. No chimney means I can burn anything, even leaves.

A hot shower is a definite luxury after a day spent cleaning up after hurricanes! It will be able to use a siphon for pool water or connect to my well for good water if the poolhouse still stands...

At the same time I'm going to remodel some space in the bottom level that originally was to be an office for my wife, into an emergency bedroom to relocate her and her medical equipment to if we are about to be hit by a good sized hurricane.

I can't reasonably come up with a method of getting her into the Tornado Shelter in a wheel chair, plus she's claustrophobic, so this has become more of a priority for now...

Space is underground on three sides, always dry, and is plumbed for a full bath. Show less

I'm comtemplating building a second house under the one I just spent seven years building so I won't ever need to evacuate from a Hurricane.
