I just read your message back, I'm so sorry to hear what happened to Shadow.....my dog is 13 years old, was also falling down the stairs. He's been getting injections for his arthritis, and is doing much better now.
13 or 15 years for a pet, is never enough for us is it??? As long as they are comfortable till the end, for the years of loyalty they gave us is all that really matters. And thats what you gave Shadow....God Bless You.
