Mr. Luis John Soria was born March 1, 1962 in Houston, Texas to an ethnically rich and diverse family. Mr. Soria's mother, Carlota Moreno, is half North-American Indian and half Mexican. His father, the late Luis G. Soria, was a pioneer in the early '50s working in the Dry Walling industry and was half Spanish and half Italian.
Mr. Soria's early childhood took him to where his father's work needed him, from Houston, Texas to Anaheim, California; to Monterrey, Mexico and then to San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Soria's parents divorced when he was in the 4th grade and he, along with his two younger brothers moved to live with his mother's parents living in the small cattle town of Somerset, Texas. There, young "Luigi" was mentored by his Polish and German mixed step-grandfather, Louis John Skoruppa. "Grandpa" was a Germen speaking, expert carpenter who loved to tell jokes and deer hunt and the both shared many adventures together. Mr. Soria graduated among 80 fellow classmates from Somerset High School in 1980.
In 1984, Mr. Soria entered into the military service as a Private (PVT, E1) in the United State Army. During his military career, Private Soria worked hard through to the rank of Sergeant First Class (SFC, E7) and had many duty stations (states) he has called home. States like Missouri, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Virginia, and Oregon. He also was station in countries like Germany, Israel, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. SFC Soria was a helicopter mechanic and a Technical Inspector (TI) on the Bell's OH-58 Kiowa Alpha, Charlie, and Delta combat scout helicopters and he was an accomplished Pathfinder and Aero-Observer. SFC Soria has logged over 2,000 flight hours as a crew chief on the Cobra, Kiowa, Huey, Blackhawk, and Apache Army helicopters. Due to his military actions and selfless service during the 1991 Persian Gulf War (Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield), SFC Soria was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Bronze Star Medal from the XVIII Airborne Corps.
After the first Gulf War, SFC Soria completed his first civilian collage degree at Central Texas Collage in Killeen, Texas. He also completed his Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certification at Davis--Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona. And he completed the Army's Advance Non-Commission Officer Course in Newport News, Virginia.
The dream to complete thirty years or more of Army service was shattered after an almost paralyzing auto accident in 2003. At this time of the accident, SFC Soria was performing his first assignment as First Sergeant for Charlie Troop, 1-7th Air Cavalry and was preparing his troops for a deployment to the Persian Gulf region for the second gulf war. SFC Soria was medically retired to civilian life on November 30, 2004 completing only 21 years of active duty service.
Mr. Soria has two children: Destiny Christina Soria and Devon Christopher Soria, both whom are very active in the filming and television industry.
