Ross Nichols left the safety of his job to chase his dream of owning his own shop in honor of his grandfather. Ross is Car Crafts first builder in a series discovering the talented youth of hot rodding.
Every year the staff of Car Craft Magazine looks for undiscovered, first-time builders to join us at the Car Craft Summer Nationals. If you have a new shop or are just working out of your backyard and have a project you want to show the world, this is your chance to make it big in the pages of Car Craft magazine and the Hot Rod Network. To enter, send your stats and a photo of your build to dglad@enthusiastnetwork or carcraft@carcraft.com with Discover Me! in the subject line. The Network staff will personally sift through the pile to find the guys with mad fabrication and horsepower building skills then mold them into bronzed car gods. We also look for you at shows and big events like the HOT ROD Power Tour and street rod shows like the NSRA Street Rod Nationals (where we found Ross). Do it now, luck favors the bold. Don’t forget a picture of the car, yourself, and your phone number.

HOT ROD Drag Week is a racing road trip, with radical street-legal drag cars racing 5 times in four days and driving 1,000-plus miles on public roads to get from track to track. Drag Week 2014 is presented by Gear Vendors and co-sponsored by Pep Boys Speed Shops.
Here are all the HOT ROD Magazine videos from HOT ROD Drag Week 2013, the event where racers must drive their cars to five dragstrips in five days—on public highways—to shoot it out for the lowest average e.t. The event is presented by Gear Vendors and co-sponsored by Pep Boys Speed Shops.
Ride along with HOT ROD's David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan as they continue their love/hate relationship with hot rods, street machines and other highly strung performance vehicles. In Roadkill, Freiburger and Finnegan hit the road in everything from a 1968 Ford Ranchero to a 1500 horsepower Camaro called the F-Bomb. Just getting to their destination is an adventure.
