"Dear Future Onion: A Brief Intro to the Carbon Cycle" - a parody of Meghan Trainor's "Dear Future Husband".
Lyrics:
Dear Future Onion, here's a few things you need to know if you want to be part of the magic we call life:
You gotta catch some sun,
Some rain to not get dry,
Soak up the rays and H2O to photosynthesize,
Sit on the windowsill,
Using your chlorophyll,
Take CO2, Give Oxygen,
And do it all again.
Now do not be afraid,
If you should see two eyes,
Staring you down like a meal to be metabolized,
By animals like me,
We need the energy,
We give CO2, breathe it out,
And give it back to you.
You gotta know all about the carbon cycle,
Ooo, and how the earth recycles,
It's basic Biochemistry!
Dear Future Onion, here's a few things you need to know if you want to be part of the magic we call life.
Dear Future Onion, even though you are part of the food chain, as a primary producer,
Know you never really die.
'Cause when it's time to go,
You and consumer both,
Bacteria from in the dirt will help you decompose.
By now you may be not,
Like how you started out,
The molecules are there respired back into the air, hey!
You gotta know all about the carbon cycle,
Ooo, and how the earth recycles,
It's basic Biochemistry!
Dear Future Onion, here's a few things you need to know if you want to be part of the magic we call life.
Dear Future Onion, regardless of natural selection, your atoms will bond to make another shape and size.
Carbon will change to many forms (like you!) throughout the years,
It's in the oceans, in the land and in our atmosphere.
Even the dinosaurs,
Before the meteor,
Were made of the same, carbon that we have today.
You gotta know all about the carbon cycle,
Ooo, and how the earth recycles,
It's basic Biochemistry!
Dear Future Onion, here's a few things you need to know if you want to be part of the magic we call life.
Dear Future Onion, do not fret that one day when you're grown up, you may be picked from the ground, chopped, grilled and carmelized.
Oh Future Onion, grow up strong and bright.
