In Part 1 of the Mass Effect playthrough, Commander Shepard enters stage right. Leeroy Jenkins exits left. Kaiden Alenko is traumatized by the whole episode, but that's okay, because he's a big boy and don't need no therapy. Uncle Owen quietly smolders away in the background.

In the distant future, mankind discovered a means to kick science in the balls and achieve faster-than-light travel. But when they finally got around to exploring the rest of the Milky Way Galaxy, they found that a bunch of other alien species beat 'em to the punch... but you know humans, right? That wasn't gonna stop us from strutting around like we're the hottest thing this side of the asteroid belt. And so, here we are: welcome to the Mass Effect trilogy, where mankind wrestles with good, evil, and its own goddamn ego in the face of galactic extinction!
