About Me:

Take a little bluegrass, country, folk, southern rock, classical, jugband, and a dash of classic rock. Those are some of the influences of my style. Whatever that may be or how much I may have. LOL I simply play and write to entertain myself. Being able to share my work with friends is a bonus.

I was a poet long before writing my first song and at heart will always be a poet. My greatest influences as a poet moving into songwriting were Bob Dylan, Woodie Guthrie, Roger Mcguinn, and Jim Morrison.

I am self taught..."with a little help from friends". I have had the good fortune to pick guitar with some great musicians over the years. Each one taught me something new. My earliest mentor was "Tap" Nelson a studio musician in the late 60's at Capricorn Records. HIs southern rock style and Les Paul joined in with the likes of The Allman Brothers. In 1976 I met a folk singer, songwriter, play any instrument musician from Maine. "Tiny" Dowling. I didn't have a guitar at the time and he loaned me an old Kay for a year and we picked every weekend. How he could tell a story in song. In the 90's I met Port Barlow who owned Vitale Records in LA and was also the arranger and lead guitar for the Floyd Dixon band. His swing blues style and vintage Silvertone showed me a new sound.

A musician gets lots of influences over half a century that lead them to their own individual style, sound or description. I have been blessed with some great teachers.

I am also a folk instrument maker at the Great AsWeGo Kazoo Factory specializing in handmade American Wooden Folk Style Kazoos. I also have a nice selection of other handmade traditional wooden folk instruments. Be sure and drop by the website for a tour of the factory.

Hello Friends,

I am still working hard in the kazoo factory. I just reached 200 instruments made, sold and shipped in the past 6 months. I now have instruments in 30 States, Brazil, England, Scotland, Germany, Italy and Puerto Rico. As you can see I have been quite busy. I hope to have a special video up for National Kazoo Day on January 28th 2011 that I think everybody will like.

I hope everybody has a great New Year and that 2011 is the best ever. I miss you all very much but right now have just got to keep focus on my instruments due to loss of income in 2010 due to employment layoff and poor reemployment opportunities locally.

Much love and peace to all.
