We get asked all the time about how much land should a person get for their homestead. Like most questions, the answer depends on what your goals are. Do you want to live off grid? Do you want livestock? Do you want to harvest timber? Are you going to grow crops?
Once these questions and others are thought about and determined, you can better think about the size of homestead that your family needs.

Education is very important to us as we want to give our children as much knowledge as possible. Wisdom is important but what is even more important is what to do with that wisdom. So on the homestead, we homeschool and teach our children math, science, history and language. But we also get into other things such as electronics, programming, foreign languages and of course the education you can only get while living off grid on the homestead. LIFE can be a great education. You get out of it what you put into it.
