On Sept. 13th, Reading & Northern 4-6-2 #425 powered a round-trip excursion from Duryea, PA to Jim Thorpe, PA. Benefiting a number of Pittston area charities, this annual trip operates over the ex-Lehigh Valley (and occasionally Jersey Central) mainline in Eastern Pennsylvania. In this clip, 425 accelerates from a stop signal at Glen Onoko, before thundering through the White Haven Tunnel on the return trip to Duryea. The whistle is a Southern Railway 6-chime.
Full coverage of this trip will be available on DVD/Blu-ray in late November along with Nickel Plate Road #765 on the Allentown-Pittston excursions.
