Apple will unveil refreshed portables this year. Most interestingly, it seems like 2016 will be the year apple dramatically updates their Macbook line by launching ultra-thin 13" and 15" laptops. Perhaps marketed as Macbook, or under the Macbook Pro title, the updated laptops are expected to feature a thinner profile, multiple color options, Skylake CPUs, and USB type-c ports.

Based on my own thinking, it makes sense to me that Apple will also look to simplify their lineup. I would suggest that Apple eliminate the Macbook Air and the non-retina 13" Macbook Pro. Then, the 12" retina Macbook will be positioned as a strong entry level product, with the ultra-thin larger devices being both incredibly portable, beautiful, and powerful.
