About Me:
Hometown:
A small town in MI
Country:
United States
Occupation:
I'm a activist, a baker, and a poet. Basically I like to create the change I want to see
Schools:
A year away from college grad.
Hobbies:
I love to read and write poetry. I dance and sing. I can't go a day without singing. I am saved and proud of it. GOD is my life, music is my heart, and my friends and family are my soul. My idea of a good time is resting, chilling, and being around positive people. If I'm hyped up I like to dance, listen to music, bust (spit, recite poetry :-)), or just talk.
Music:
I love all types of music!!! Umm R&B and soul is my fav., but I always can recognize a good song. I started with house music from hometown artist like DJ snowflake, dancing in people's basements, not listening to the lyrics. I'm way more lyric conscious now, although a good beat can still take me away. I'm into Joss Stone and Jewel (there early stuff). I also am feeling My chemical Romance. I really luv John Legends, "So High" and I can't get Saul Williams out of my head. Indie Arie, Lyfe, Vivian Greene, and Lauren Hill are great black people and they have beautiful voices that inspire me. Billy Holiday, Alicia Keyes, Jennifer Hudson, and R-kelly could sing themselves out a box, lol. And yall know Rihanna be trying with "Unfaithful" and she might have done something with "Take a Bow." Amanda Perez and Keisha Cole made us think of "love" and "Angel"s, but Inva Mula-Tchako really can get me higher. D4L got me shakin my "good*" (edited for kids, lol). Tupac, Public enemy, Grandmaster Flash, Salt and Pepper, and Will smith brought me through rebellion. New Cats like Corinne Bailey Rae got my luv. Any good Musical will have me singing for days. I have to to give props to the "oldies but goodies" like Prince, 112, Donny Hathaway, Boys II Men, and DRU Hill. Coldplay, Sade, Maxwell, and Floetry made me think deep. While Kirk Franklin, Deniece Williams, J. Moss, Fred Hammond, NuJoi, Flame, Tonex, and the Clark sisters brought it back to God. Just to name a few... But really it is music itself that moves me, so I don't become fans of people and rarely songs. Both because everytime i see or hear them the feeling changes. People aren't loyal to music, but money. Music doesn't please, it creates and it might be saying forget you one day and the next it's rocking you to sleep.
