First of all I am not a Liberal and I am not a Conservative, I am a human being and my views change and are generally somewhere in between, so please refrain from accusing me of far left extremism, I am not a communist.
As I have stated before many times I have no problems with most of the ideology of the Republican party. The problem is it is never put into practice. The Republicans spend as much if not more then the Democrats when they are in power, and they work just as hard to restrict your freedom. Look at legislation like the patriot act, just because it contains the words patriot it doesn't make it patriotic, look at Bush's huge bail outs to corporations, look at the massive military spending by the republican party. The statistics in terms of spending are there for all to see you just need to take the time to look.
911: Why was Saudi Arabia not attacked the country containing the most hijackers? And Iraq instead, one of the few secular governments in the Middle East besides Turkey at the time. I know Iraq was a horrible dictatorship but the Republican government under Reagan supported him during the previous ten years, besides the US doesn't invade every dictatorship in the world in fact they often support dictatorships if they think it suits their geo-political goals at the time. Its also worth noting that Iran had a democracy and the CIA had it overthrown in order to install the pro American shaw. It backfired and you had the Islamic Revolution of 1979 in Iran. Which led to Reagan supporting Iraq in order to destabilize Iran.
All of the above can easily be verified, if you wan't citations just ask. I did not even touch on Donald Rumsfeld shown on Video shaking hands with Sadam, or Dick Cheney stating in the 90's that invading Iraq would result in a quagmire. Then theres the issue of the Bush families close relationship with the Saudi Royal Family.
Ron Paul is probably the only one left who really represents what Republicanism should in my opinion stand for. The rest of the party has long ago been co opted by special interests and the religious right. Feel free to refute anything I may be wrong about after all I am not a American.

I think sometimes he was talking directly to me. Perhaps I need to concentrate on the whole world so to speak not just the physical one.
Movies:
Anything about World War Two, Hitler, Stalin, Ancient Civilizations, Communism, docs about big government and corporations screwing us over. I'm also interest in the counter culture and love films about the 60's, stuff like almost famous and all the 60's documentaries. I also happen to really have it out for fox news, and generally hate 99.9 percent of the garbage they put on television these days. I do like some of the educational channels, and I still like the bbc although the cbc seems to being going downhill they still put out some good stuff from time to time.
Music:
Anything I like really, from punk, to hippy music, classical, very heavy stuff, techno, soul, classic rock. Bands: Pixies, Black Flag, Offspring, Public Image Limited, Iggy Pop, Jefferson Airplane, the Byrds, Stevie Wonder, stuff people make themselves.
Books:
catcher in the rye, down and out in Paris and London, The Old Man and the Sea, the lost horizon, the idiot, Must Read The Rise and Fall Of The Third Reich, The definitive novel about the second world war, the author was in Germany at the time of Hitlers rise to power, and is probably the best description of the Third Reich ive read. Describes how something like this could happen and really makes you realize that it could happen anywhere. Look at the treatment of prisoners in Quantanimo Bay and its easy to see how people with good intentions can easily become malicious when they begin to believe that a certain group of people is inherently evil. Blind faith in any leader or ideology always leads to violence.

Just been doing all the usual stuff here, but I went to the UK for a few weeks which was good, before Christmas, but cold, like freezing! :).
