DEBUT ALBUM COMING SOON.HAS FEATURED ARTIST SUCH AS SPLIFF STAR, RAH DIGGA, FROM FLIPMODE SQUAD, DOE, SLIK, AND COOLIE HIGH, FROM BOZAK TRYBE / PRODUCED BY THE LAB RATZ !!!
Genesis Ian, Philippine born and raised in Kuwait, and the U.S.A., is not just another face in the music game; he’s accomplished the rare task of creating a new genre ,,lead and rhythm guitarist, keyboardist, drummer, vocalist, and songwriting combine into something totally flavorful. Add in Genesis Ian's family roots, which cite Philippine legendary singer/ musician Ramone Tzunakus as his father, and you have one of the most exciting debuts this year. And while hip-hop lyrics have sparked the biggest debate in years, Genesis finds himself in the center of the controversy - but not where you might think. The artist/producer of the world infamous Lab Ratz prefers to show his creativity without using profanity. Genesis wants to make it clear that he is no cookie cutter artist that has the songs mapped out for him - he comes up with 100 percent of his lyrics and music. Genesis also understands that as an artist making urban music he has a responsibility to fans, "With this album I thought it was important to not use curse words or negative language that might offend people. I write and perform my own songs so it’s like if I can write a great track without using those words, then that’s the style for me." Genesis continues, "As a producer with the Lab Ratz, my whole goal is to make provocative, soulful, and classic albums. I want everyone to feel our music and understand my history, my love, my joys, my struggles about myself and everyday life as an artist and that’s what this album will do. The music is all about that there is that universal island soul vibe channeling thru the sounds of rock, reggae, and soul music. Members of Lab Ratz besides myself, Justin Ranes and Kush are amazing producers and they heard that I had something different to offer from other artists out there. Together we’re a powerful force and we're ready ,. worked with some of the best and I don’t see why Genesis can’t grow to be one of;coincidentally Kush was already in the process of moving to California. Shortly after their initial meeting, Genesis and J.R. were already experimenting with beats together. For Kush, it was a prophecy beginning to be fulfilled.Lab Ratz is looking forward to making timeless music and living out our dreams. Perhaps one of the most eye opening tracks is "Rize Above It" where Genesis visits the hardship of watching his mother and father seperating then having to leave the country for 6 years to find a better way of living, he was just 4 years-old. "I always had my grand mother," he began to express. "But when my mother and father went away, it took a lot out of me especially when my grand mother had to leave 2 years shortly after that. My mother went away for 6 years and my father has been missing to this day. When they went away, I thought to myself, this is too much.’ I was only 4. I missed both of them like crazy but I pulled through and used it as my motivation. "No Harm" is a song that expresses my trust in the world that I am not alone. It is a song to heal my heart and soul. With being the multi instrumentalist, melody master, beat maker, songwriter counterpart of his music producing crew the Lab Ratz they have their hands on many ,Focus,>Spliff Star which features the legendary Busta Rhymes and the always infamous flipmode squad. "In the future I dream of being able to build new schools in poor countries. As an artist I want to bridge the gap between genres and break the molds of commerce music. As Bruce Lee and Jay Z said style is a form of labeling it divides us.
