We often get emails from video content creators asking our permission to create and monetize videos about Outlast. We wanted to come up with a clear stance on this to save everyone the trouble of ever having to ask us about it again. Our stance is this:
You're welcome to create Let's Play-style videos of our games and monetize them if you want.
In more detail: Red Barrels permits you to create free or ad-supported videos (including Let's Plays, speed runs, reviews, commentary, and so on) using captured or streamed video from Red Barrel's video games. You do not need to request written permission to create such content.
Additional written permission from Red Barrels is required for any use of Red Barrels's art, music and audio content outside of captured in-game footage (please e-mail info@redbarrelsgames.com with any such requests).
Should you decide to post videos containing Red Barrels content, we request that you provide a functional link to our site.
