I haven't ran into any issues, but it's down to the computer setup I suppose. I can run pretty much anything these days with no issues.

really depends on what you're looking for, I think the two you mentioned load a bit faster and are easier on the cpu, but some people enjoy this as well. I think it's decent, but I wouldn't replace my main "workstation" with it.

There is no demo of battery 3 as battery 4 is the current version, and the demo should come with any demo patches you need directly from the site.
