A project may have one phase, or multiple phase and each phase will follow the aforesaid process group. In the initiating process group, you will find the project charter and project manager is authorized to assign the resources based on project charter.

At the initiating process group, the input may be from stakeholder on business case, or agreement any other, and its output becomes input to the planning process group, it defines all high level requirements are identified, here the planning is created and the baselines, scope, schedule and cost and complete program shall be measured on these parameters.
And, this is the input to the executing process group and this tells you on deliverables, further becomes input to monitoring and controlling process group, and here it is checking the process, quality check and conduct validation, the closing process group takes input from its processor group.
Once the customer receives the product, the accepted deliverables’ scope is read and after the acceptance, you do sign off the project and you do finally archive the documents that contain mistakes, errors, etc.
