IBM Research's neuroscientist James Kozloski studies the inner workings of the human brain, and applies what he discovers to possible cures for degenerative brain diseases, like Parkinson's and Alzheimer's.
In this video, James talks about applying cognitive computing to these cognitive disorders of the brain, as well as how cognitive computing's predictive power could help us make better decisions. He's exploring how technology could process the environment and context around an individual who is suffering from a memory disorder - and prompt that individual with cues to help them with daily tasks. And also how technology could be pre-cognitive in the same way a heart beat is predictive of a developing state of health.
