Doug Clare - Sweet Lovin' Blues (Original)

149 vistas Hace 3 años.
Music video by Doug Clare (c) 2010

Hi, Family, friends and fans !I'm sorry it's been a while, but my day job has been keeping me busy this summer/fall of 2010. I've been promising to put out a new song/video and I started writing it exactly 3 weeks ago, today, and have been dying to share it with you. I don't have fancy equipment or a lot of time, right now, I just hit record, on my phone, and went for it. So, here it is in all it's glorious rawness.

This song expresses some pent up frustration and sadness, I've been experiencing, with the social & political status of our present day and how much I long for a trend back to some common, ethical, sense. Like we had back when the term "politically correct" hadn't been coined, yet and honesty, truth and freedom of speech were common place. Sweet Lovin' Blues has a simple, short & sweet, message for the young and a reminder for the old. Whether it's a good one, or not, rests in the heart of the beholder. I hope you enjoy it! Thank you for visiting...You are whom make it all worthwhile!! ♥♥♥

Blessings,
Doug

Lyrics:

When I think back today
When I was just a child,
Life was simple then
And freedom ran wild.

We ate Cracker Jacks
by the railroad tracks,
Back when journalism
Was based on facts.
We ran around town
When the sun went down,
No need to watch our backs.

We weren't enraged
By the TV news,
And the radio played
Those sweet lovin' blues.

Now, we have software techs
With tattoo necks,
We can watch little Tommy
Place a hex.
We make haste
And too much waste
And believe we can change our sex

Well, I like the day
When crime didn't pay
And anything, we were free to say.
We sent God to school
With the golden rule and
His rod ruled the way.

We weren't enraged
By the TV news,
And the radio played
Those sweet lovin' blues.

When I think back today
When I was just a child,
Life was simple then
And freedom ran wild.

We weren't enraged
By the TV news, (x2)
And the radio played
Those sweet lovin' blues.
