I have posted a "REPLY TO ANTICIPATED COMMENTS" in the comment section of this video.
As you can tell from my reaction to the accident, I completely acknowledge this was my fault. The bar-end mirrors on my bike were relatively new, and in hindsight offered poor visibility. I had no idea just how much time I was spending looking down at them until I reviewed the footage afterwards. It was definitely an eye-opener. It is incredible how much you can learn from reviewing your own mistakes on video.
I felt immensely guilty. Especially with the thought that had the vehicles been swapped and I was in a car and she was on a bike, I could have seriously hurt her. I am so grateful and lucky that I did not strike another motorcyclist, bicyclist, or pedestrian. I am also very grateful for the car behind me and the yellow Suzuki Swift to my left for stopping before hitting me.
In the end I'd like to thank Gixxerboy for stopping to check on me and Slipprymongoose for coming to give me a lift home when my bike got towed. Once again he's helped me immensely. Please go show him your support here:
