The first in a lengthy series of demonstration videos showing the Mega Amp, a new audio circuit I designed with Sega-16 user Villahed94, compared to the many crappy audio amps Sega used between 1992 and 1998.
There will be 3 sets of videos for each motherboard revision from the VA7 Genesis Model 1 up to the VA2 Genesis 3 and everything in between. Each set is for the different variations of the Mega Amp: Filtered, made to match a VA0 to VA2 Genesis Model 1 minus their horrible distortion; Unfiltered, made to get the full range of the Genesis' audio output; and System C-2, made to match the sound of a Sega System C-2 arcade board. In each set, there will be 12 videos, 1 game per video, with 3 songs from each game.
We shall begin these demonstrations with the Filtered Mega Amp for the Yamaha YM2612 on a VA2 Genesis Model 2. These have so-so amps with muffled sound and completely screwed-up PSG. The first game for these demonstrations is Thunder Force II MD.
