Part 1 of 4
In MY opinion it is possible to help overcome the fears and anxieties of almost every bird that exists.
The problem comes in with the humans heh. We tend to be very pushy and impatient by nature. In other words we want everything to happen yesterday.
Sadly the result is quite often at the expense of the poor living thing that we hold dear to our hearts. Most of the time it seems to be lack of not knowing the right thing to do. This is caused by the world being in such a rush today and wanting to accomplish as much as possible in the shortest period of time.
Part 2 of 4
Here is my question for you....
Your bird is nervous when people approach his cage unless they have their hands behind their back? Why?... Possibly without knowing it some has maybe poked at the cage or tapped it with a clothing sleeve> (very common by visitors) you may not even seen it. It could be anything like that. or just even being loud or to fast to approach.
Ask yourself do you REALLY want everyone to handle your bird? Do they really need to witness you with him tame on your shoulder? Thats possibly not going to happen.
Last question... How long or diligent are you willing to try even though maybe one method doesn't work, and you need to try another? Most people give up due to lack of available information.
Part 3 of 4
OR.... do you want to have a special trusting bond with your bird that you and your little companion can share for many years to come, that both lives are enriched by? This is definitely something you can accomplish then.
If so ....... Keep watching the videos.... I have several birds I am currently working on with the same behavioral or emotional fears also. In addition keep doing searches on how to tame a bird.
PLEASE NOTE: If you read the method and it seems like if you were your bird and the method seems to harsh and cruel? It probably IS!
Remember every bird is different like every human. What will work for some will not work for others.
Part 4 of 4
Try playing quietly and gently and slowely for now with one of his own feathers by touching his toes with the longest feather you have that he lost last molting. Don't be in a hurry to touch him. Feathers uasually are the easiest thing to approach with. They wear them :-)
Good luck I hope I had offered something valuable points to consider
Again If you have any doubts about my advice please consult your local trained professional. I have never met your bird.
Catherine.

i just recently visited your website. very nice. how many birds do u have there? i didnt see a exact number. just curious.
you all do such amazing work. im so happy that they have all found such careing, loving, and dedicated people to help them live normal, happy, lives and not have to starve,.or worry bout being mistreated.
you all take really good care of the birds and u can tell they are happy in the videos. thank you for being there and educating people.
i wish there will be a day when people do nt want an animal for a "prize" or "trophy" or whatever else they get birds for and mistreat them, when the newness wears off and they arnt fun anymore.
keep up the good work. i wish i didnt live so far away cuz i would love to help you.
I am only humbled by your kind words on our work here. I am not alone in my work here at FCBS. Amanda Lambert (secretary), Brad Dirks (Manager), and all the many volunteers.... and the organizations that call us for events so we can educate and support our Avian Mission.
These people have had a great impact. We are co-dependent with these people, creating results that become more productive each and every day.
Thanks again.
I just want to say that u are an amazing woman. i respect everything that you are doing for our feathered friends. i have 3 birds n love them very much. have always wanted to start a bird rescue..infact its my dream.
anyways thats all i wanted to say. just dont understand why people want to her these presous beings.
i commented on one of your recent vids. hopefully i can hear from you soon.
