I thought I'd do something special for my one thousandth video on YouTube, starting with a look back at previous milestone videos. And then keep going back for the one thousandth video itself. The music in the intro is from the Paul Tremaine Aristocrats Orchestra's version of "I've Been Working on the Railroad" from 1929. The full version can be found here: http://archive.org/details/....
This is from a home video of my family's vacation to Hannibal, Missouri on July 27, 1995. While on the riverboat Mark Twain, my father filmed this Burlington Northern mixed freight train heading north on the Keokuk Line. The lead unit is a gray LMX leased unit. There were only 100 of these Dash 8s leased by Burlington Northern. Since this was filmed from the river, the video also show the tugboat American Beauty pushing barges downriver and the American Queen, which is the world's largest river steamboat.
