So, you subscribed for Sonic videos? Here's to a video series for one of the hardest Sonic games created. This is Sonic 2 on the Game Gear.
Perfect Running seems to be the best of both worlds in regards to boss running and Let's Playing. It forces me to learn the games to a heightened level and get good at it whilst maintaining the comedic aspects of the Let's Play. This will be followed up with Outakes of some baffling mistakes and things not otherwise shown in an actual run.
Since my upload and recording schedule is so erratic, (as well as health problems going on) I'd probably not start uploading perfect runs until either most or all of said game is recorded.

So I got asked to do a boss run. Happy to oblige. In fact I'm uploading two versions of this video, one with commentary, and one without. (This is the one without).

Hi guys, back from France, but got one hell of a cough and a distinct lack of voice, which is preventing me from doing the finishing footage needed for the next two sonic video.
Labyrinth is all sorts of nastiness, and whilst it is not as evil as some of the later water levels in future Sonic games, it was bad enough. A pack of particularly nasty enemies boosts this Zones'...
What's a Recovery Run?:
Here's the basic idea: Get to the boss, and then die. Then beat the boss (and.. what parts of the stage it forces me to do.) with the few power-ups you get from the pre-boss checkpoint.
The hardest part about the Gradius series is, when you die, especially to one of the bosses, it's extremely difficult to continue. This is what makes the Gradius series amongst the hardest shoot em up's around.
I'm starting to do these videos instead of standard boss runs, mostly because I think they look more impressive. :P
Some other games also get featured as recovery runs, be sure to check those out too!
I think it's a toss up as to whether this level is as easy as Green Hill zone or not, at least for the Master System version. The Game Gear version has some minor changes to the timing of everythin...
Despite the lack of actual outtakes.. on a practice run, it took about 10 lives to even make a dent in the boss... this is my justification on the higher rating than it looks. I almost rated him a ...
A no damage run of Sonic 2 on the Game Gear. Includes outtakes and footage of alternative routes, and as much information about the game as I can fit into a video, really.
For those of you who think my difficulty rating for this zone was a little zone was a bit high, bare this in mind: A) I am taking the bottom route of Act 2 into account with the rating. B) I origi...
Sega Dev: "Hey guys, you know what this game needs?" Level Designer: "..oh no." Sega Dev: "Blind jumps." Level Designer: "But.. we're porting this to Game Gear.." Sega Dev: "Involving springs...." ...
Whilst I still say, the stage design in this level is awful, I was expecting this Zone to be one of the biggest pains to record. In the end? Only two outtakes happened on Act 2 - the rest were that...
Nothing too interesting here, but I figured I'd go through the two alternative paths in Labyrinth. And if that little comment at the start of the video cued you in on whether this took more attempt...
The adventures of Sonic 1 continue with the Spring Yard Zone. Alternative paths aside, this is a suprisingly difficult Zone, it's end rating was boosted by the inclusion of the Roller Badnik, which...
The adventures of Sonic 1 continue with the Marble Zone. From this video onwards, we're splitting the Perfect Run and Alternative Paths into separate videos, particularly as the stages get more and...
