"Promotional film aimed at car customers. The film focuses on the toughness of Chevrolet cars and the pleasantness and excellent quality of the repair staff at your local dealership."
Public domain film from the Prelinger Archive, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and mild video noise reduction applied.
The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original).

An automobile repair shop (also known as a garage) is a repair shop where automobiles are repaired by auto mechanics and electricians...
Types
Automotive garages and repair shops can be divided into several categories.
Firstly, there are the auto parts stores or motor factors who also maintain service operations. This is not common in the United Kingdom but more common in the US.
A majority of automobile repair workshops are independently owned and operated businesses. These may also include regional or national chains and franchises including OEM car dealership sites. In the US, these sites are the only individuals authorized to perform warranty and recall repairs by the manufacturers and distributors. In the European Union a recent law (The EC Block Exemption Regulation 1400/2002 (October 2003)) allows motorists more flexibility in selecting where they can get their car serviced.
Thanks to this legislation, maintenance and service work does not have to be done by the main dealer as long as the garage uses Original Equipment 'Matching Quality' parts, and are recorded as such, and the garage follow the manufacturer's service schedules.
The Block Exemption Regulation (BER) covers service and maintenance during the warranty period and prohibits vehicle manufacturers' warranties from including conditions that require normal maintenance to be provided within the vehicle manufacturer's network or that all parts used must be the manufacturer's original spare parts. This means that motorists benefit from open market competition in aftermarket parts, repairs and services thus reducing the cost of servicing through better labour rates and competitively priced parts.
Specialty
Automobile repair shops often can be specialty shops specializing in cok parts such as brakes, mufflers and exhaust systems, transmissions, body cok parts, tires automobile electrification, windshields, and wheel alignment or those who only work on certain brands of vehicle or vehicles from certain continents of the world.
Auto body repair
Automotive repair shops also offer paintwork repairs to scratches, scuffs and dents to vehicle damage as well as damage caused by collisions and major accidents. Many body shops now offer Paintless dent repair, which is done by pushing the dents out from inside.

Chevrolet (pron.: /ʃɛvrəˈleɪ/), also known as Chevy, is an American brand of vehicle produced by General Motors (GM). Chevrolet was founded by Louis Chevrolet and ousted General Motors founder William C. Durant on November 3, 1911. In 1918 it was acquired by General Motors.
Chevrolet was positioned by Alfred Sloan to sell mainstream vehicles to compete with Henry Ford's Model T in the 1920s, with "Chevrolet" or "Chevy" being synonymous with GM. In North America, Chevrolet produces and sells a wide range of vehicles, from subcompact automobiles to medium-duty commercial trucks, whereas in Europe, the brand name is used mainly for automobiles produced in Korea by General Motors...
Chevrolet had a great influence on the American automobile market during the 1950s and 1960s. In 1953 it produced the Corvette, a two-seater sports car with a fibreglass body. In 1957 Chevy introduced its first fuel-injected engine, the Rochester Ramjet option on Corvette and passenger cars, priced at $484. In 1960 it introduced the Corvair, with a rear-mounted air-cooled engine. In 1963 one out of every ten cars sold in the United States was a Chevrolet.
The basic Chevrolet small-block V-8 design has remained in continuous production since its debut in 1955, longer than any other mass-produced engine in the world, although current versions share few if any parts interchangeable with the original. Descendants of the basic small-block OHV V-8 design platform in production today have been much modified with advances such as aluminium block and heads, electronic engine management, and sequential port fuel injection.... The engine design has also been used over the years in GM products built and sold under the Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Buick, Hummer, Opel (Germany), and Holden (Australia) nameplates... Show less
