I. Music History:
I started playing the guitar when I was a junior in university around 2000. I mess around on the piano now and then. I used to play the Erhu (Chinese Violin) in the ethnomusicology class at UCLA and for our final exam, we had to perform in an ensemble in front of a live audience of over 300 people with cameramen from local chinese TV stations. We all dressed in traditional chinese outfits. I play the chinese flute too a little.

II. Languages:
My first is cantonese, second English which I speak the most cuz I grew up in the US, third Japanese cuz my wife is from Japan and I work in Japan, fourth French - I studied in college but I forgot a lot, and last is Mandarin...I am awful at it but I can understand a little and speak a little.

III. Academics:
Computer science and engineering B.S. degree from UCLA, 2001.
My goal in life is to produce applications that help people enhance their knowledge. I want everyone to enjoy playing and discovering music.

Family:
I have 2 kids, a son and a daughter. They are half Chinese half Japanese. They speak English and Japanese and I'm starting to teach them Cantonese.
