Yeah guys, this video is super late. But there is a story behind it. Today, I began work at 1pm. I edited for six straight hours (which honestly flew past my like a supernova) and, upon encoding, received many an error, likely due to th sheer volume of audio tracks I had placed. Troubleshooting failed me (as it frequently does) and subsequently I was forced to splice the video into several segments and render them individually, with the intention of recompiling them soon after. Unfortunately, in the process, I lost about 20 seconds of audio from one of the midsections. Luckily I'm so BALLER at synchronization and I realigned it with earlier audio and left it as-is...you'll no doubt be able to hear the loop but given the ratio of repeat clips to unique ones, I think it fits together well regardless.
And I mean, it was either that, or no video this week. You take your pick.
I did try exporting in a different codes (for the five people who understand that jargon besides myself) but the AVI file was 28GB in size and extremely choppy. Rather than fiddling around further with codec settings I chose to take the loss on the few seconds in the middle. Worth it.
All in all, I was working on this until 8. This is the longest I've spent editing a video since the Mini Golf one last summer; oddly enough, featuring Matt as well. Maybe I increase my work ethic when he's involved. Who knows.
As described, all the elements of my channel are represented in this video, and it is a full 40 (I think) seconds longer than the previous year's, so the improvement is obvious. I also strove for a more complex beat this time. I think, all things considered, this is a success.
If it's this difficult next year, I'm just not going to make one.
