I'm totally burned out on pointless banter. Try going without IM/Skype for a month and insist on written communication, you'll be amazed by how little all those talkative people really have to say (and how much more you get done).

I'm aware this is very dismissive of a lot of nice people, but the world is full of nice people. You can't make time for every last one.
