In October the Mexican mad 2012 Masterchef heroes Andy Allen (winner) and Ben Milbourne visited for the first time the country they share a passion for, as they embarked on Intrepid Travel's Mexican Real Food Adventure.

Featuring authentic, local, grassroots food experiences, the Mexican Real Food Adventure saw the two Masterchefs taco-crawl through Mexico City, sample regional cheese, chocolate and crispy grasshoppers in Oaxaca, sip on artisanal mescal at an old-world mezcaleria, and soak in the colours of local markets.

The real food experiences Andy and Ben encountered have helped them develop their knowledge and passion for Mexican cuisine, which will go towards a new Mexican themed cookbook they will begin working on together next year.
