What do you get when you combine infantile humor (that all we adults pretend to scoff at even though we still snicker when we hear it) with viral gaming phenomenons? You get something like Farty Bird. Yup. Farts, things don't get much more juvenile than that, and you don't get much more viral than Flappy Bird. But how do those things mesh? Let's find out.
It's really obvious that the game is a Flappy Bird clone. Since Flappy Bird vanished from the Interwebs, there's been a fairly big market (so to speak) for similar games with all sorts of games that follow the same pattern appearing. This game though, knows that it's a clone, and it knows that it's just riding on the wave, and thus goes all out with sheer silliness to excellent results.
The graphics are, if it can be believed, even simpler than Flappy Bird's. They are rather reminiscent of a grade school child's drawings, and such is rather suited to the juvenile (and absolutely hilarious) humor of the game. Of course, given the nature of the game, you're not really going to see all that much in the way of variation in terms of differences in level design or animations. The most animation that you'll see will be the bird farting its way through the levels.
Like Flappy Bird, the controls are exceedingly simple. You have a single key that you use to get the bird to fly a short burst upwards. Whereas in Flappy Bird, this would cause your bird to, as the name would obviously suggest, flap thereby gaining a bit of altitude, in Farty Bird your bird will, you guessed it, fart. This fart animation causes a typical comic cloud to appear from the bottom of the bird. This in turn is followed by a fart sound, of which there are a great variety making for an almost musical flow of flatulence. Using these farts, you have to guide the bird through a series of pipes, the gaps of which are at different places thus requiring careful timing and precision. Of course, this precision is tempered with the sheer ridiculousness of the premise, and even a few minutes in you're certain to be giggling at it.
So if you're looking to get your Flappy Bird fix but missed out on the game before it vanished and if you don't mind indulging your inner child some with some juvenile humor, then go on and give Farty Bird a go!
