My Favorite Robot is the trio of Jared Simms, James Teej, and Voytek Korab, three Canadian DJ/producers who in a space of a few short years have become a central part of the global electronic music scene.


Simms & Korab originally formed the My Favorite Robot act in Montreal back in 2002 and the label in 2008, shortly after Jared's move to Toronto from Montreal. At the same time, the duo hooked up with the No19 Music crew and James Teej and a new chapter in Canadian music history was born. Teej, who was already recording for Rekids and other influential imprints, soon became involved in the My Favorite Robot label and a musical affinity between himself and Simms & Korab lead to the duo becoming a trio. Whilst their good friends at No.19 went on to form the massively successful Art Department, the boys at MFR worked alongside them building their own label into a global beacon for quality electronic music.


My Favorite Robot Records has received huge critical acclaim and has released music from the likes of Tim Paris, Jori Hulkkonen, Chloe, Michael J Collins, Kenny Glasgow, Fairmont, Phonogenic, Andrew Grant, & Tiger Stripes to name but a few.


2011 and 2012 saw MFR releases on Visionquest, Life & Death, Crosstown, and Sasha's new Last Night On Earth label but it's 2013 that will see the most complete project from The Robots to date with a new album slated for release on No.19 Music in the first half of the year . There are also plans for a series of label driven events around the globe. Already established as a force to be reckoned with, it seems it is now time for the Robots to take on the world.....

Kompakt is a record store, an international distributor, a record label and the home of the "Cologne sound".

Launched in 1998 by Wolfgang Voigt, Jurgen Paape and Michael Mayer upon the back of pre-existing labels Profan and Auftrieb, Kompakt soon developed its signature "Cologne Sound" -- a mix of minimalism, melody, and melancholy, often with an underlying pop sensibility.

TRAUM Schallplatten is the Cologne-based powerhouse run by Triple R (aka Riley Reinhold) and Jacqueline Klein.
Home to five separate imprints: Traum, Trapez, Trapez Ltd, My Best Friend (aka MBF) and MBF Ltd, its labels have had recent releases by artists including Dominik Eulberg, Cosmic Sandwich (aka Steve Barnes), Nathan Fake, Audio Werner, Jeff Samuel, Oliver Hacke, 3 Channels, Daso, Break3000 and emerging artists Alex Under and Shane Berry.
Traum releases are the most complete and personal, with a sound varying from wide-eyed ambience to those fusing trance elements and the sounds of Detroit and early English techno.

The label is also famed for its compilation series 'Elektronische Musik Interkontinental'.
