  The Evans Telescope (formerly T-Rex) returns after upgrade (Time lapse)

  The 'Evans 30" Telescope' (a.k.a. T-Rex) returned from Victoria on Saturday June 8th 2013 after being upgraded by Peter Read of SDM Telescopes. (http://www.sdmtelescopes.com.au)
  The telescope is now named "The Evans 30" Telescope" in honour of Robert Evans.
  
  Peter Read drove the scope up from Victoria and supervised the re-assembly of the scope.
  
  The upgrades include:
  * New mirror frame and mirror cell supports. The mirror is now supported better with a stainless steel cable sling.
  * The UTA was rebuilt with the boards for the Telrad and finderscope repositioned closer to the focuser board.
  * New Feather Touch focuser.
  * Argo Navis and ServoCat (for full goto operation)

  Dismantling T-Rex - Timelapse

  I joined several members of WSAAG (http://www.wsaag.org) to dismantle the 30 inch telescope (known as T-Rex) at Linden Observatory. The telescope is being sent to Melbourne to have some upgrades done and it will return in a few weeks.
