Lone Star Park

#LoneStarPark is in its 17th spring thoroughbred racing season. The track just did $11 million in improvements and has some of the best Texas Music artists with their Lone Star Music Series.

Since Oklahoma-based Global Gaming Solutions, owned by the Chickasaw Nation, helped the park emerge from bankruptcy in 2011, the facilities have undergone a number of improvements. Global Gaming also owns the highly successful Winstar Casino just across the Red River in Oklahoma.
In January, the main one-mile dirt track was stripped to its limestone base and reconditioned with a mixture of sand, clay and cushioning. About $800,000 was spent to replace the track lighting system. And a new 17-by-60-feet infield screen was installed at the center of the racetrack.
During the summer, all of Lone Star's buildings were repainted.
Inside the grandstand, the 1,200-seat Silks Dining Terraces was renovated with new furniture and paint. Racegoers can enjoy a new menu while watching one of the 300 flat screens, which replaced the small, older tableside TVs.
