:: ABOUT THE SOCKHOP ::
Funkanometry SF Dance Company is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit performing arts organization that has provided services for the Bay Area dance community through performances, workshops, and youth programming for the past 10 years. In 2008, we celebrated our organization by debuting our first annual benefit showcase, The Sockhop, as a means to raise money for our programs. The show was a huge success and was presented to a sold out audience of 1400 people.
The Sockhop is a celebration of the choreography, culture, and community that has come to be known as Funkanometry SF. While there are numerous showcases where dancers can perform on stage in front of a large audience, there are very few shows that provide the opportunity to bond on a personal level. It is our mission to create strong and meaningful relationships between individual dancers and the arts community as a whole, and The Sockhop is one step we take to fulfill this goal each year.

Funksters Dance Company
Funksters Dance Company is the youth professional dance company under Funkanometry SF. Youth dancers (ages 8-18) can audition to be a part of the company every August.
