The biggest milestone has reached in FS2004's history. The simulator has just reached the age of 10 years, and is still going strong. I fly various aircraft from various eras to celebrate the occasion.

FS2004 Roselawn plane crash recreation
Halloween 1994. American Eagle (Simmons) Flight 4184, an ATR 72 en route to Chicago, IL, crashed near Roselawn, IN, due to SLD icing on the aircraft. All 68 people were killed.

*note the recreation is accurate enough but doesn't show a second roll immediately after the first roll. -

Four Star Air Cargo DC-3 [Proper] Landing - FS2004
A video showing a proper way to land a DC-3.
As the plane touches down, do not pull back, otherwise the plane will fly back into the air. Instead, let the tail go down by itself. Gently push nose down to kill lift. Use braking. -

The Staines Crisis - BEA Flight 548
18 JUNE 1972: A BEA Trident has just taken off from London Heathrow to fly to Brussels, Belgium. The captain, Stanley Key, erroneously retracted the leading-edge droops. The plane entered a deep stall, and crashed near a motorway in the town of Staines. All 118 died.

The Orly Incident
In December 1968, a BEA Trident took off from the Orly airport in Paris, France. Shortly after takeoff, the captain retracted the leading edge droops. The copilot quickly lowered the droops after increasing speed. The plane came close to disaster. But in 1972, a similar occurrence happened over Staines-upon-Thames, this time, resulting in the loss of aircraft and all 118 on board. -
