Actually, according to IMDB, the 2008 DVD release has both the edited US version and the uncut version (the DVD's rated PG.

You can find the clip on Youtube. There's also a scene where a bunch of wild dogs munch on a corspe. It's darker and scarier than Watership Down and The Secret Of NIMH.
