I subscribe to common name channels that are definitely not "name wasters". Detailed criteria as follows:

#1 A username without stuff like 'xRAWKZx2010', or anything else for that matter. This includes and is not limited to the following: words found in a dictionary ('Control'), common first or last names ('damian', 'johnsmith'), words, names or titles from popular culture ('longcat', 'Kagome', 'kingdomhearts'), place names ('hawaii'), popular phrases or sayings ('SweetAndSourPork', 'ChangeWeCanBelieveIn') and trademarks ('cadbury'). (Channels created by the trademark's owner are excluded.)

* Exception: If the said channel is wasted BUT an unwasted letter-disguised equivalent (big I posing as small L and vice versa) exists, the equivalent will be added instead.

#2 A video, favourite, or playlist. I don't add name wasters for nothing... if you are lucky enough to select a name of your choice, well, just don't take it for granted!

* Exception: If the channel has none of that, it will still be added if it is obviously a channel surfing/mass subscribing account.

#3 An avatar. (aka display picture or icon) This is a rule that was added with much hesitation. In the end, I decided that default avatars might be mistaken for wasted accounts. Apologies to the owners of channels like 'Gaia', 'japan', 'Harry', and 'guitar'.

From my occasional channel surfing days, I encountered a lot of channels whose names had turned us green with envy. Comments posted on those channels ranged from offers to take over to taunts of "name waster"! But after visiting several channels that surely weren't, I knew it was time to showcase these channels with such valuable names and just as valuable contributions to YouTube.

My main account is perhaps notable for producing a Kanye West video mix, a sacrilegious Foo Fighters edit, and more recently, a bottom 50 countdown of the Billboard Hot 100. A cookie and free Internets for anyone who correctly guesses. (Look around!)
