  • Space Oddity 2 - Fake trailer (Blender 3D animation)

    "To save your brother in trouble, where will you go ? .."
    A little more than two years an a half ago, I started learning 3D thanks to Blender with a project in mind. The project is dead but I kept learning. Two months after starting, I did an animation called Space Oddity, my very first (-second-) attempt at doing a 3D short (somewhere on my channel). Two years later, I thought it'd be cool to go back to space and tell an other story, with new things I've learned so far. The "trailer" is everything, there's no reel S-O 2 coming.
    Done in Blender (+ Gimp) , rendered with blender's internal rendering engine.

  • Blender 3D Tornadoes (Smoke simulator, sand, fire)

    The smoke resolution is set to 64 (division), with high resolution set to 3.
    A little more than an hour to bake, 4 to 5 hours to render the whole video.
    Sand and fire tornado are done just by changing the material.

    Once again, I'm practicing with the blender's compositer in order, later (when i'll be able get that movie like "professional look"), to make a 100% Blender short movie, mixing live and 3D elements. I hope to involve Cycles renderer in the party next time and see what it could look like.
    Just like before, this 100% Bender made. *Obviously at 1:49, not a "descent" video, but a "decent" video ... :x

    LIGHTING SET UP :
    There is one area ligth on the front the car, pointing at it (if you watch at 0:02 you can see the ground beeing highly illuminated. this is where the area ligth is. it is also scaled a little). _Soft yellow color .
    _Energy : 0.800.
    _Distance : 1.200.
    _Ray shadow with 4 samples (for smoother shadows but longer render)
    An other area light on the side, smaller and a little upward, poiting at the car.
    _White.
    _Energy : 1.00,
    _Distance : 0.800.
    _Ray shadow with 4 samples.
    A little spot light on the back and a few "meters" up, to light up just a little the back of the car.
    _no specular (unchecked), no shadow.
    _Energy : 0.700 _distance : 6.4
    _Spot shape _Size : 70 _ Blend : 0.525
    Ambient Occlusion set to 1.00 and multiply instead of add.

    All done in blender, internal render. I made some corrections with GIMP for the to images.
  • Succube ( Blender 3D animation )

    You may find it scary. HD ! Blender internal rendered + some Cycles renders, and some help from After Effects.
    Introducing my first Cycles renders in an animation(glass of whisky and pipe), althought the major part is rendered with blender internal renderer. And for the first time I did the music, with my own ears, hope yours won't bleed =]

    Feel free to give your own interpretation, there are many ways.

    Trapped in a dream by the beast while beeing vulnerable. Reality deforms, revealing the deception as he stays awake thanks to the rain and thunder, saving his miserable soul from an inevitable damnation.
