About Time 4 Hemp

Time 4 Hemp was the first television series ever to focus on the topic of marijuana in a positive light. This series is Produced, Hosted, Created and Owned by Casper Leitch. Due to this, Casper Leitch has since become known as 'The Father Of Marijuana Television'.

In May of 1999, Casper opened one of the first websites dedicated to educating people about how wonderful marijuana is at http://www.Time4Hemp.com and was one of the first people to ever offer FREE video and audio downloads on the internet.

On July 4, 2007, Casper launched from his website the 'Time 4 Hemp - PotCast Series' which now has over 500,000 subscribers to the rss feeds and in September of 2009 he began hosting 'Time 4 Hemp - LIVE' on http://www.AmericanFreedomRadio.com which is heard Mon-Fri. 11p.m.-Midnight (CST).

This site has be created in hopes of feeding minds all around the world the truth about hemp. This task can only be accomplished with a global body of people working in a focused fashion. May the material found on this site provide a helpful means to accomplishing this goal.

Casper Leitch was one of 17 people who, in 1991, wrote the California Hemp Initiative (CHI). This Initiative called for allowing people, who need the use of hemp (slang termed: marijuana) for medical reasons, to grow 6 plants or less in their own homes with out fear of prosecution. Those who wrote this initiative then recruited an army of volunteers to gather enough signatures to get it onto the voting ballot in 1992. It failed, but since that time, Prop 215 has passed in California and now several other states have also followed our lead.

At that time, all 17 activists who wrote this Initiative hoped that enough other states would pass similar measures and force the federal government to repeal the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act.

'Time 4 Hemp' was created in order to bring publicity to the California Hemp Initiative. The series made its debut through the Van Nuys Community Cable Broadcasting Company on January 5, 1991. In three short months, it went national. By the end of the year, it was an international cult classic.

Featured among the interviews for the series are: Willie Nelson (country singer and a founder of Farm Aid); Dr. Timothy Leary (one of the fathers of the LSD movement); Steve Bloom (editor of High Times magazine); Keith Stroup (founder of NORML); Jack Herer, (author of the book 'The Emperor Wears No Clothes'), and Kevin Zeese (a founder of the Drug Policy Foundation). The interview with Dr. Timothy Leary is one of the last interviews Dr. Leary allowed before his death. This interview can only be located in full on the http://www.Time4Hemp.com website.

To create a special roll-in segment for the Dr. Leary interview, Casper Leitch participated in the UCLA Smoked Marijuana study funded by the United States government. He is the only participant EVER allowed to be filmed in a study of this nature.
