Hi :) D-50! :)

The Juno series (the vintage ones) are amazing, the Juno-60 is my favorite! The SY99 has AFM which is similar to the DX form of synthesis, sort of like a D-50 with its TVF+res and a DX with its 6 operators. A good place to start is to study basic FM synthesis, and how the operator...

HI. The black material on each contact is most likely best if left there. It could be the carbon like material used on the contacts to help with the connection process between the keys and the processing/scanning board. If the black material is only on the contact itself and looks organized, leav...

Hi :) That is awesome that you have a JP-8, they are beautiful machines. I would love to teach synthesis and improvisation one day. :)

hi :) SY 99 is cool. We once used a Yamaha SY85 years ago. The SY series are excellent. The 85 didn't feature FM though. The other synths I am using is the Roland Alpha Juno-1 for bass line and the Roland D-50. My sister is using the Yamaha Motif-6 and the Roland A-90 to control it (midi).

Hi :) Improvising is our main way of composing. Songs 'appear', then we have to work fast to decode it before its gone. It doesn't wait. Sometimes I will play a few notes to specify the chord I'm in. Each of us 'decodes' songs and 'hear' it faintly as if its a radio left on quietly in the backgro...

hi :) Yes. The metal envelope is actually shielding paper (part 22255252). It protects the main board and its sensitive components. :) The Juno-60 is in my opinion the best out of all the Junos. I played the 106 and its similar but it doesn't have the quality of the 60. The Juno-6 and 60 are nearly identical except that the 6 lacks internal 56 patche storage of the 60, that's why there's missing buttons on the 6. The J6/J60 a...

Hi Yes, I improvise the JP-8 strings, the Korg lead and the OBXa bass line live. My sister plays the beat as she finds best to match what is played on the other synths.
