Nation Ruckus (formerly known as 4DZ) is a Montreal-based hip-hop collective that consists of rapper Milk-E Fresh, multi-instrumentalist/beat-mak
Their unique take on classic beats, with inspirations ranging from Beastie Boys, The Roots, and Outkast, has fuelled a strong following of enthusiasts who enjoy the trio's high intensity performances and ability to bring the house down.
Along with some of Montreal's top musicians, the group has opened for the likes of Ludacris, Down with Webster, Talib Kweli and Big Boi. In addition to winning some of the city's most prominent urban music contests, the members of Nation Ruckus have distinguished themselves with performances at the world renowned Montreal Jazz Festival, Canadian Music Fest, and NXNE.
The group's momentum is growing fast, having already gathered over 300,000 hits on YouTube and a heavy rotation on MuchVibe. This year, the members of Nation Ruckus are ready to hit the mainstream and are set to release their highly anticipated debut album, Boombox Manifesto, in the winter of 2012. The album's first single, "Funky Sneakers," is a perfect summer jam with whimsical, lively lyrics over hypnotizing drum beats. Milk-E Fresh's quick-witted persona and slick delivery provides an anthem for sneaker heads and streetwear lovers. The track is also the first of Nation Ruckus' Fresh 2 Def Thursdays, a series of weekly Nation Ruckus music giveaways.
Throughout the summer, the members of the group will take their uncanny ability to hype live audiences on the road, offering performances at various events and festivals across the U.S. and Canada.

In 2010, after years spent trying to establish themselves in the underground, the trio decided to re-think its sound and direction. Choosing to take fate into their own hands, they founded the label Big Dreamz Records while refocusing on a unique approach to beat-making, inspired by such artists as Beastie Boys, Rage Against the Machine, Run DMC and The Roots. Setting themselves apart from the rest of the urban music industry, they bring forth a new wave of old school-inspired alternative rap.
In only one year of reclaiming the keys to their future, the crew has received substantial production and promotion grants from FACTOR. They also landed live TV performance slots on MusiquePlus as well as heavy rotation on MuchVibe for their music video and single Funky Sneakers. With their album entitled Boombox Manifesto dropping in the Fall of 2011, the band will be touring across Quebec and Ontario during the summer.
In addition to winning some of MTL's most prominent urban music contests in their early days, 4DZ has distinguished itself with performances at the world renowned Montreal Jazz Festival as well as major events such as Canadian Music Fest. The group, known for combining forces with some of the city's finest musicians, has opened for the likes of Ludacris, Down with Webster, Talib Kweli and Big Boi from OutKast. The video for the song Sin City, a milestone in their stylistic development, has also attracted over 270 000 views on YouTube since its 2009 release.
