AMV - Rockin' Layer:00 - Serial Experiments Lain

898 views 2 months ago
Description from l33tmeatwad:
I decided to make this because I thought the concept was humorous (although the video itself is not comedy). This was very different than anything I have previously edited and was really fun to work on. It was also the first video I have edited using Adobe Premiere. One of the main struggles was keeping the pace up due to the fact that the footage is very slow paced. I'm not really sure what this video is, it turned out really weird, however I'm really glad I decided to finish it.

Anime: Serial Experiments Lain
Song: Scream & Shout
Artists: will.i.am (feat. Britney Spears)

  • AMV - What the Hell - Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt

    Description from l33tmeatwad:
This is my fifth AMV project and I finished it for the Anime Weekend Atlanta 2011 Masters' Contest. After hearing this song, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt immediately came to mind and I decided to make this video. I did the rough cut back in June, but wasn't planning to finish the video until later this year. After learning about Anime Weekend Atlanta I decided I would finish up this video for their Masters' Competition. Time wise, this project took more hours than the rest of my solo projects combined and was my first project to be edited in 1080p HD. The goal when making this video was to essentially present it as if it were "musical episode" and to add text & effects in a way in which they would seamlessly blend with that of the original style of the show. I spent a good amount of time tracing letters to recreate three of the fonts used in the show. Special thanks to snapxynth for quality checking and giving feedback through the entire process of making this video. Overall I'm fairly happy with the outcome of this project and I hope you enjoy it!

    Description from l33tmeatwad:
After hearing this song, Toradora! immediately came to mind and I decided to attempt and make a Comedy/Romance AMV. A lot of Toradora! AMVs tend to focus heavily on the romance aspect, so I wanted to make a video that had a good balance of comedy and romance to reflect how the show presents itself. I would like to give a special thanks to Malakalam and snapxynith for quality checking and giving suggestions as well as everyone at Anime Boston who voted!

This is the first joint project by PixelBlended Studios and the editors who worked on this project were l33tmeatwad and snapxynith. With the initial vision and rough cut by l33tmeatwad, snapxynith joined in and handled all of the text and other effects for the project, adding a very much needed flare and visual punch to the video.

Special thanks to Minstrel & Sumasan from amvnews.ru for translating and timing Russian subtitles. The English and Russion caption timing were redone, but the translations came from their script.

  • AMV - Mother's Day Special - Dragon Ball Z

    Description from l33tmeatwad:
I came up with the concept for this video back in January of 2011, but I was unable to make it at the time since the series had not been fully released via the Dragon Boxes.  I am glad that I had to wait to make this video simply because my skills as an editor have improved a lot since then.  I told this idea to some of my friends back when I came up with it and they constantly asked about it and have been waiting for it to be completed...and now the wait is over.

Anime: Dragon Ball (TV) & Dragon Ball Z (TV)
    Song: Motherlover (Edited)
    Artist: The Lonely Island
Title Screen Audio: Dragon Ball Z (TV)
Credits Audio: "3-Way (The Golden Rule)" by The Lonely Island

    Technical Details:
The rough cut was done with AviSynth and I used After Effects to style the video.  Photoshop was used alongside After Effects to create the title screen.

    Easter Eggs:
The waffle depicted in the second verse is the avatar of Pwolf (aka Pwaffle) on a-m-v.org
Both instances of Goten being held as a baby is actually clips of Gohan since Goten is not shown in the series as a baby.
The bottle Goten is holding in verse two is a bottle in the shower with Bulma from an early episode of Dragon Ball the original series and the roses are the ones Sharpner brought for Videl at the tournament.
The clip of Trunks with a camera is actually a combination of a scene with Sharpner using a camera and a still shot of Trunk's face blown up to replace him.
In the video credits the title of the song is shown as "Mother Lover", but the correct spelling is "Motherlover".
The clips used in the credits were all recycled from the finished video.

  • AMV - Sorry for being Hercule, Sincerely Mr. Satan - Dragon Ball Z

    Description from l33tmeatwad:
This was one of those project I just had to complete once the concept came to mind. I felt like this song was perfect for Mr. Satan and the pairing was just too good to ignore. Normally I would not trim a song, but the repetitiveness of the song as well as the lack of good footage for Mr. Satan convinced me that it would be the best choice for this video. I really used this project to learn new effects and really explored a lot of features in After Effects.

    Anime: Dragon Ball Z (TV)
Song: Sexy and I Know It

  • AMV - Clubbin' with Lupin (Jack Sparrow)

    Merry Christmas from PixelBlended Studios!

    Description from l33tmeatwad:
This is my sixth AMV project and it is my first multisource AMV. This video was created entirely with free software to show that it does not take expensive software to make an AMV. When I heard this song, One Piece imediately came to mind and I had to figure out a way to make it happen. After looking through my anime collection, I decided that Lupin would provide the best facial expressions for reactions the singers have in the song. Special thanks to snapxynith, Shin, StarTrinity009, kireblue, Mr. Pilkington, & vincentcloud for watching the betas and giving me feedback.
