A series of tutorial videos outlining the steps of modelling a very simple level in Max and aimed at assisting basic users of both the Unity real time engine and using 3D Studio Max.
The intended audience are those looking to understand the workflow from AutoDesk's 3D Studio MAX ( version2009 is used in this video series ) to final import of a very basic FPS game level into Unity.
Topics included -- as "S" for 'Session', and "P" for 'Part (relative to the naming of the videos) -- are as follows' :-
* S1-P1: System versus Display Unit setup. * S1-P2: Grid settings. * S2-P1: Snap settings. * S2-P2: Useful view options for modelling. * S3-P1: Creating and understanding the 'Plane'. * S3-P2: Edge modelling. * S3-P3: Further Edge modelling. * S4-P1: Using running dimensions and boundry edge extrusions. * S4-P2: Mesh triangulation optimisation. * S5 : Initial test import intoUnity(TM) Engine
I intend to carry these tutorials further, to include: UV mapping; UVW Unwrapping; UVW channels; Render to texture Lightmaps using UVW channel 2...etc...etc
Lastly, these tutorials are recorded on 'the fly' I make mistakes because I am not following a script. Constructive criticism is welcomed; mindless "how do I?" is not welcome!
Enjoy.
