Taurus Model 85 Review - 5 Shot Man-Stopper!

30,533 views 3 years ago
The Taurus 85 was my first handgun purchase in the early 1990's. My primary use of this weapon was CCW and home deference. In the CCW role it worked well at 22oz, however, by today's standards it was very heavy compared to the ultralights that weigh in at about 14oz. The 5 shot capacity is no worse than other similar offerings in the same category, and the 38 special with a +P load with a hollow point is a man-stopper. I paid about $215 when I acquired it from my local gun shop. I good deal back then, but the price has gone up since then. The base model of the Taurus 85 today starts at about $325 still not bad for a quality handgun that will get the job done!
