Watch as Family Fun shows you these chicken and string egg Easter crafts! This charming take on Easter egg decorating ideas will leave your little ones feeling like magic themselves. To create the chick, you'll need orange felt, tacky glue, a 1/2-inch pom-pom, a 3/4 inch pom-pom, black dimensional paint, and scissors. Cut a heart out of the orange felt to use as feet, along with a small triangle for the beak. Use tacky glue to stack the pom-poms on top of the feet, placing the larger pom-pom below the smaller one. Glue on the beak,as well, and give her some eyes using the black dimensional paint. Set her aside while you focus on creating the Easter egg. For this step, you'll need the following: a paper plate, waxed paper, cotton thread, a balloon, a clothes hanger, vegetable oil spray, white glue, and a clothespin. Cut the thread into 2-foot lengths.Gently place the chick into the balloon and inflate it until it's about the size of an Easter egg. Lightly spray the egg with vegetable spray. Dip the thread in the glue and feed it through your fingers until the entire thread is covered in glue. Wrap the soaked thread around the balloon in varying criss-cross patterns until you achieve your desired pattern. Hang the balloon from a hanger over waxed paper for between 10 and 12 hours to allow the thread to dry. For the fun part, pop the balloon the next day and remove it from the egg, giving the chick a nice place of her own. This is just one of many Easter crafts for kids, so check out our other exciting Easter egg decorating ideas and give them a try as well!
