About Me:

I am a manga artist who's pen name is (...) ~dotdotdot~. My work is inspired by classic hip hop, jazz, nu soul, funk, and rock from the 1960s-early '90s. My work means to bring back the classics to modern popular culture. That's what I'm all about.

I have currently been working on a manga entitled Flowering Dogwood 【FLOWERING DOGWOOD】. Flowering Dogwood is a manga based around a fictional club based in scenic New York, where fictional hip hop music producer and MC, Hypemasta Fire who runs the club. The club, Flowering Dogwood starts as an underground, not very well known club, but then grows much larger and starts creating a booming hip hop scene. The manga, Flowering Dogwood, shows the progression of the club. In the manga, Flowering Dogwood eventually creates news headlines, "Hip Hop is Alive" with longtime hip hop fans stating that the genre has come back again.

Flowering Dogwood is a comic, but is laid out like a live show, with lyrics written at the bottom of the panels to give the whole live affect. My mission with Flowering Dogwood is that someday it will really bring back real hip hop to the public
Influences:
Hip hop music and the works of Santa Inoue (works include; Tokyo Burger, Tokyo Graffiti, Tokyo Tribe, Tokyo Tribe 2, and Tokyo Tribe 3), Tsutomu Takahashi (works include; Blue Heaven, Sidooh, Skyhigh, and Skyhigh Karma), and Takashi Okazaki (Afro Samurai).

Burbank

United States

Hobbies:

Music:
I have many favorite artists and just for your liking I will go through all of them for you and list them in alphabetic order. Artists I prefer to listen to are Aesop Rock, Afrika Bambaataa, Afrika Bambaataa & Soulsonic Force, Afu-Ra, A Guy Called Gerald, AHMAD, A Tribe Called Quest, Black Eyed Peas (old), The Beatles, The Beatnuts, Big L, Bob Marley, Boogie Down Productions, Buddy Rich, Busta Rhymes, Coldplay, Common, Consequence, Camp Lo, Da Bush Babees, De La Soul, Del Tha Funkee Homosapian, Dennis Brown, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Earth Wind & Fire, Eric B. & Rakim, Erykah Badu, Franz Ferdinand, Fu-Schickens, Ghostface Killah, Gorillaz, Heltah Skeltah, Hieroglyphics, Home Made Kazoku, INI, The Jackson 5, Jaylib, Jay-Z (only on "Reasonable Doubt"), J Dilla, Jeru tha Damaja, Jigmastas, Jimi Hendrix, Jin, Jungle Brothers, Jurassic 5, Kanye West, L'arc en ciel, Little Brother, LL Cool J, Madlib, Mashmakhan, MF DOOM, Michael Jackson, Miles Davis, Mobb Deep (early), The Moody Blues, Nas, Organized Konfusion, Pete Rock, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Public Enemy, Q-Tip, Queen, Queen Latifah, Raekwon, The Roots, Rage Against The Machine, Redman, Redman & M.E.T.H.O.D Man, Rob-O (of INI), Rusted Root, RZA, Schoolly D, The Smiths, Scha Dara Parr, Shane Alexander, Soundgarden, Stevie Wonder, Strunz & Farah, Take 6, Terminator X & The Godfathers of Threatt, U2, Vinia Mojica, The White Stripes, will.i.am (old), Wu-Tang Clan, and The Yardbirds. Genres I like go all over the place I like jazz, funk, afro beat, hip hop, rock, surf music, and many other genres. But really, genres don't mean anything to me. It's about the music not the genres. Genres are what hold people back and then they forget to listen to just plain good music. Don't ever forget that. The only reason I listen to so much hip hop is because the artists are very talented and you have to be good to be a hip hop artist. Well, at least a golden age one...not the current ones.
